valued highly. You can establish your credibility and attract
more visitors if you provide information they find useful. For
example if you are selling real estate in the Raleigh-Durham
area, provide information or links to real estate price trends
in the area.
Your web site needs to be friendly to visitors.
The pages must be displayed correctly with all of the different
browsers you visitors may use. Pages with lots of graphics may
look cool, but if they take more than 15 seconds to be displayed
on a standard 56K modem, some of your visitors will give up
and depart before you get a chance to sell them anything.
The web is a very competitive marketplace, and
to be successful you need to outsmart your competition. Study
your competition, spot their strengths and weaknesses. How good
are their web sites? How high are their rankings in the search
engines? Look at their HTML code. Are they making full use of
meta tags, headings, alt tags? What is their search engine ranking?
